is it a kind of sport day --sukan boxing ker??
no-no--nope

box tu kotak kan..so boxing day tu hari kotak or hari bukak / bagi dlm kotak ker??
1st time me dgr psl term ni masa thn 2007 ie masa 1st time me dtg kat UK ni...

Boxing Day?...

The first time I heard about this day..the first thing came to my mind is about "boxing"-a type of sports. How amusing it is..in fact it has nothing to do with that sport!
boxing day literally means "Hari Kotak" ie the day to open the box / the Christmas gift :)

So the proper meaning of boxing day that I got from the internet is :

"Boxing Day is a public holiday celebrated in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Australia and many other Commonwealth countries on December 26, the day after Christmas Day;
The celebration is traditional, dating back to the middle ages, and consisted of the practice of giving of gifts to employees, the poor, or to people in a lower social class. The Oxford English Dictionary attributes it to the Christmas box; the verb box meaning: "To give a Christmas-box (colloq.); whence boxing-day."


for me..boxing day means--SALE!!! yepp sale babe!! sale dgn diskaun  yg menggila2 hehhehhe and jgn tak tau yer, kedai2 dibukak seawal 5 pagi pd hari boxing day ni :p

me nak shopping souvenir utk family+relatives boxing day nanti--26 december 2010..Insya Allah....and tarikh 26 december tu sgt significan, sbb pd 26 december 2009 --setahun yg lalu, me & family menjejakkan kaki kat UK ni....so me tak sempat ber-boxing time boxing day last year...tu jd excited tunggu boxing day 2010 ni..giller jeles me tgk those frens yg shopping sampai berpuluh2 plastic bag penuh dgn baju (brand Next) masa boxing day thn 2009---me tgk pics diaorg kat FB :p.

note : kat Msia tak de boxing day tp ada YES kan (year end sale)....apa2 sale pun sounds best and tempting to shopaholic like me ;)
